Group photo project
1949 – Farnhill Sunday School outing
Originally posted as one of “mysteries”, here are two group photos of what looks
like the same event – probably taken just moments apart.
We thought at first that this was a Kildwick School outing but one of our
“identifiers” suggested that it was more likely a Methodist Sunday School event;
another confirmed this and pointed out that all the children were in dressed their
“Sunday best” and many of the girls had on their best bonnets.
So, it’s a most likely a Methodist Sunday School outing and we think it’s 1949.

About the “Group photographs project”
A number of group photographs have been contributed to our archive with very
little information attached to them. The aim of this project is to capture as much
detail as we can from those who might remember the events and people shown.
